Firs Road Primary School - Sale
The Firs is a mainstream, community primary school for boys and girls aged 4 – 11, situated on the outskirts of Sale town centre. Following the award of Primary Capital Programme Funding, the school was extended and re-modelled, to cater for an increasing intake of children.
The existing, detached nursery building was extended and refurbished to provide two additional classrooms with associated toilets, cloakrooms and storage space. The construction is traditional brick and blockwork, with a concrete tile roof and under floor heating. Mechanical services have been upgraded with new electrical services throughout. New play areas were also constructed and secure fencing installed.
Three new classrooms, Comms Room and breakout areas have been built as an extension to the KS2 building. Under floor heating and a natural ventilation Passivent system have been installed along with all new services. Internal modifications have been undertaken to create new staff, administration and reception areas.
The work was undertaken in a number of phases in order to minimise any disruption to the school.
